Doing Documents The Right Way

Perks Of Having An Organized Office

I personally can’t think of anyone who likes to walk into their office and be greeted by mountains of unfilled documents, folders all over the place, leaning stacks of reports here – piles of old disks there. I also find old coffee cups, discarded reports and scattered newspapers as a distraction to an office or a workplace. Imagine being able to find the stapler, pen, or even the keyboard easily. Perhaps you wouldn’t have overlooked that deadline last week because the note you wrote it on got buried in the piles of clutter on your desk. You should really start organizing your office especially if you think that the mess around your work place has already affected the way you work.

The first thing to do is to create space in your office. You can achieve having a space in your office by clearing the walk way in your work area. Get rid of office equipment which has no value and are useless in your office. Get rid of all the boxes stored under your cubical and along the walls. Trust me, you will definitely gain more space by just removing all the unnecessary equipment. Remember, the less clutter you have the less stress you have.

The next thing to attack is your desktop. Every mess happens in the desktop, that’s for real. Your focus needs to be on this first. Shred any papers that are not relevant or pertinent to what you are doing. Throw away any old post-it notes or old newspapers.

You might also think of buying a new hanging file folders for your desk drawers since they are also highly advisable. Drawing organizers are also used to organize office equipment such as pens, pencils and staplers. I even use bins that directly attach to the wall.

The third and probably most crucial step here is to label everything. For sure, you won’t get overboard in this step. You can easily find a tool that you are looking for by using drawers, bins and shelves file folders. It also helps you put it back in the right place too.

Hanging a dry ease board on the wall can also help in tracking important events. It will help cut down loose papers which are laying around.

If you want to come across as someone who is organized, efficient and capable then I can’t stress enough the importance of having an organized office space. A little time and effort organizing your office will have many lasting positive effects.
